Mothers Cross in Bronze

The Mother's Cross, also known as the Mutterkreuz in German, was a state decoration in Nazi Germany that was awarded to mothers for exceptional contributions to the growth of the German population. It was instituted on December 16, 1938, and came in three classes: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The Bronze class was the lowest rank of the Mother's Cross.

To qualify for the Bronze Mother's Cross, a recipient had to meet certain criteria. Typically, it was awarded to mothers who had given birth to four or five children. The criteria varied, and there were exceptions, such as cases of mothers who had lost children in service to the German military.

The Mother's Cross features a black swastika in a white enameled field and is worn on a ribbon with a pin on the back.

The cross comes with its original ribbon. Nice original cross in good condition!
