The Kuban Shield, also known as the Kubanschild in German, was a World War II German military decoration. It was instituted on September 21, 1943, and it was awarded to German soldiers who participated in the campaign to secure the Kuban Bridgehead on the Eastern Front.

The Kuban Bridgehead was an area on the Taman Peninsula, which was a strategic region in the Soviet Union. The German military operation in this region took place from 1943 to 1944. The Kuban Shield was given to individuals who had served in this theater and met specific criteria, such as actively participating in combat, being wounded, or spending a certain amount of time in the region.
