The Deutsches Kreuz in Gold was instituted by Adolf Hitler on September 28, 1941, and was awarded in two versions: gold and silver. The gold version was presented to military personnel for acts of exceptional bravery, while the silver version was awarded for distinguished service in support of the war effort. This decoration was worn on the lower right side of the uniform.
This is the lightweight version, marked with "20" on the inside of the pin, indicating production by C.F. Zimmermann in Pforzheim. The enamel remains fully intact, with only minimal surface scratches from years of storage. The cross is in excellent, near-mint, and unworn condition, displaying only a light patina due to age.
A stunning and original German Cross in top condition!
