Until 1941 Luftwaffe flying personal was wearing bulky one-piece flight suits, which were designed years before. That year a new, innovative and comfortable flight suit was introduced: The brand new two-piece "Channel Suits". The sets were called this way, because of they were used a lot above the Channel during the "Battle of Britain". Consisting of a pair of trousers with all sorts of handy pockets for storing survival gear, flight maps and personal belongings. While the jackets had a nice, modern, tailored cut using the best fabrics. The particular jacket we have on sale here is the co-called "Heated Leather Channel Jacket". This is a real late-war "Reichverteidigungs" version of the Kanal Jacke. A really hard to find version of these jackets. This example misses the electrical sleeve wires, they were possibly never fitted in the factory, which was quite normal at the end of the war due to savings on materials. There is some usual wear on the jacket, and some spots of paint. Except from the missing wiring, the jacket has all of its Prym H9 press buttons, working zippers (Elite for the sleeve zippers) and all of the glass buttons.
