Offered here is a genuine German WWII dog tag (Erkennungsmarke) from the 2nd Company, Ersatz-Bataillon Infanterie-Regiment 63, bearing the serial number 405 and marked with blood group O.

This is an early-war issue, made of aluminum, which was used before mid-war material shortages led to the widespread use of zinc.


Infanterie-Regiment 63 and its replacement battalion were part of the early mobilization of the German Army, providing trained infantrymen for front-line deployment — especially during operations in France and the Eastern Front.
