German Dog Tag – 2.Stammkompanie Grenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 63

This authentic WWII German dog tag belonged to a soldier of the 2. Stammkompanie (Replacement Company), Grenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 63, marked with number 1683 and blood group A.
Made from zinc, this tag reflects mid- to late-war production standards when aluminum was increasingly scarce.

Grenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 63 was responsible for training and supplying replacement troops for infantry units deployed to the Eastern Front and elsewhere.
These units played a crucial role in keeping front-line divisions operational through constant attrition.
