This is an original 1933 “Braune Messe” badge from Gelsenkirchen, commemorating a National Socialist trade and industry fair promoting industry, crafts, trade, and commerce. Events like this were used to demonstrate economic strength and party organization during the early Nazi consolidation of power.

Shaped as a large NSDAP eagle over a roundel, the text encircles a central swastika and reads:

“BRAUNE MESSE – INDUSTRIE • HANDWERK • GEWERBE • HANDEL – GELSENKIRCHEN 1933”
