German Wound Badge – Black Grade

This is an authentic WWII-era German Wound Badge in Black, awarded to Wehrmacht, SS, or other armed forces personnel who were wounded once or twice by hostile action. This version was the most commonly awarded of the three grades (Black, Silver, Gold).

The obverse features:

• A steel helmet with swastika, over two crossed swords


• Surrounded by a laurel wreath with detailed stippling


• A steel pin and catch assembly, fully intact and functional


• No maker mark present, which is common for many legitimate black badges
