This is an authentic WWII-era Luftwaffe breadbag strap, originally issued to German air force personnel. These straps were essential pieces of field gear used to carry the standard breadbag (Brotbeutel) — a vital utility bag that contained a soldier’s daily essentials such as food, cleaning kit, and personal items.
