Representing the second pattern design featuring the flared tail Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika, surrounded by an oak leaf wreath on a finely pebbled background.
- Material: One-piece molded aluminum buckle
- Pattern: Second pattern Luftwaffe eagle with flared tail (introduced in 1937)
- Buckle Marking: Stamped “A & V” (Assmann & Voss)
- Leather Tab Marking: Embossed “L.B.A. / Apreck & Vrage / Leipzig W33 / 1937”
Condition: Worn but solid; moderate wear to aluminum finish with natural aging; leather tab remains intact with visible markings and period stitching.
This is an excellent example of an early war Luftwaffe EM/NCO belt buckle, complete with its original pre-war dated leather tab. The “L.B.A.” (Luftwaffe-Bekleidungsamt) marking indicates official Luftwaffe acceptance and military issue. From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R. Angolia
