This is a matched pair of original World War II German Army (Heer) Veterinary Officer shoulder boards, constructed with silver/aluminum officer braid mounted on carmine red wool backing, the Waffenfarbe is different then usual for the Veterinärdienst (Veterinary Service). Each board features the distinctive brass snake device, identifying the wearer as an officer of the Army Veterinary Corps responsible for the care of horses, service animals, and wartime livestock logistics.
