Original World War II Luftwaffe pilot “Splitter” goggles, a protective eyewear type used by German aircrew and flight personnel during the Second World War. These goggles were designed to shield pilots’ eyes from wind, glare, and debris, while also offering protection from shattered canopy fragments, which led collectors to nickname them “Splitter” goggles (from the German word Splitter, meaning fragments or splinters).
