This is a historically authentic Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB) Warden’s Visor Cap, a piece of headgear worn by civilian air raid protection personnel in Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

The Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB), or Reich Air Protection League, was a paramilitary organization tasked with organizing and instructing civilians in air raid precautions and civil defense. Members were often issued specific uniforms and insignia to indicate their role, especially wardens responsible for leading local defense efforts and instructing the public during bombings or air raid drills.

Features of the Cap:

• Dark blue wool body with a black wool cap band, typical of RLB uniforms.


• Adorned with the RLB metal insignia on the front, featuring the stylized initials “RLB” over a silver starburst background.


• Includes a national eagle emblem (Reichsadler) above the RLB badge, which was standard for many uniforms during the era.


• Black lacquered leather chin strap, visor, and side buttons.


• The interior shows a clear maker’s mark and manufacturer’s logo inside the diamond cellophane sweat shield, with the name “WERY, AMBERG”, a known uniform and cap maker of the time.
